Meritorious Service Medal 'For consistent good service and devotion to duty throughout the period 25th February - 17th September 1918. Throughout the above period, and particularly during the operations about VILLERS BRETONNEUX in May and July, HAMEL on 4th July, the advance of 8th, 9th and 10th August, and the operations before CHAULENES in August, the consistent good work of this man under all conditions was of great value to his Unit.'
