Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry in action. He personally led an attack on an enemy strong point that was enfilading the flank of the battalion. Several of the enemy were killed and ten prisoners and two machine guns were captured. He set an inspiring example of dash and courage to the men under his command.'
