FRANCE. For the period 8th August 1918 to 11th November 1918. 'This N.C.O. has at all times carried out his work in a most exemplary manner. His method of handling men and horses in carting ammunition to the guns has been most praiseworthy and when in charge of a detachment at the gunpits in the line, his coolness and courage in action, many times under the most trying conditions and heavy shell fire, and devotion to duty have set a very high standard for the men under him. he is an N.C.O. that can always be relied on even under the most trying circumstances.'
