Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during operations 29th September to 2nd October, 1918. This man was a runner on Battalion Headquarters. On night of 29th/30th September, although greatly fatigued, Private STUCKLEY volunteered to carry a message through to '"B" Company a distance of 1200 yards, after two runners had attempted to get through the enemy barrage and had been wounded. The forward country was unknown to this man and was very difficult owing to the thick belts of barbed wire. The message was of great importance and it was solely due to the courage and initiative of Private STUCKLEY that the instructions it contained were carried out before daylight.'
