Buried at Sailly-sur-la-Lys Cemetery by Reverend W.M. Holliday, 20 July 1916. Statement, 2997 Pte J. ROGERS, 56th Bn, 16 November 1916: 'He was killed at Fleurbaix on July 19th. I saw his dead body in a bay of the front line trench. He had only just come into the trench when he was killed outright by a shell, which smashed him up very badly.'
