Military Medal 'When captured strong post near QUEANT was being bombarded on 22nd April 1917, Pte. BOYD though wounded, was one of the volunteeres who remained with Captain YATES in the danger zone to observe. He continued to do fine work and refused to go to the rear. He remained with the Officer who was conducting the evacuation of the post, and accompanied him back, being the last other rank to leave.'
