Embarked Sydney, 7 February 1917; disembarked Devonport, England, 11 April 1917, and marched into 5th Training Bn, Rollestone.

Transferred to 62nd Bn, 28 April 1917. Appointed Acting Driver, 6 August 1917.

Proceeded overseas to France, 23 August 1917; taken on strength, 35th Bn, in the field, 1 September 1917.

Admitted to 9th Australian Field Ambulance, 30 October 1917 (ICT, feet), and transferred same day to 4th Stationary Hospital, Arques. Discharged to No 7 Convalescent Depot, Boulogne, 4 November 1917; to No 10 Convalescent Depot, Ecault, 15 November 1917; discharged to Base, Rouelles, 27 November 1917. Medically classified and transferred to England, 23 December 1917; marched into No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 24 December 1917.

On command for course of instruction at Engineering Works, Winchester, 14 January 1918.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Euripides', 30 January 1918, for discharge (defective vision); arrived in Australia, 22 March 1918.
