Meritorious Service Medal 'For most consistent good work and devotion to duty. During the operations from September to November, 1918, this Warrant Officer rendered most valuable assistance by his establishing and maintaining a constant supply of ammunition. His conduct under shell fire during this period when in charge of ammunition wagons, delivering ammunition to batteries, was marked by a total disregard for personnel safety and had a most inspiring influence on the men under him. His devotion to duty during the frequent advances at the time was of the greatest assistant to his Commanding Officer, and was instrumental in maintaining the high moral of the Unit under most trying conditions.'
