Embarked Brisbane, 29 June 1915; disembarked Suez, 4 August 1915.

Embarked to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 4 September 1915.

Admitted to 7th Field Ambulance, 4 November 1915, and transferred to 16th Casualty Clearing Station (typhoid); to Alexandria, and disembarked, 9 November 1915 (defective eye), and admitted to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis (ear trouble); discharged to duty, 15 November 1915; rejoined Bn, Tel el Kebir, 10 January 1916.

Found guilty, 16 February 1916, of drunkenness: awarded 1 day's Field Punishment No 2.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 14 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 19 March 1916.

Found guilty, Mortesque, 3 April 1916, of being absent without leave from 0900, 31 March, to 2030, 1 April 1916; disobeying an order from his Superior Officer: awarded 28 days' Field Punishment No 2.

Reported missing, 29 July 1916; subsequently reported captured, 23 July 1916, and prisoner of war in Dulmen, Germany.

Died from Spanish influenza at Steinebach, 28 October 1918.
