Military Medal 'During the night 23rd/24th June this man was in charge of Lewis Gun section in the attack on the enemy trenches South West of METEREN. On moving forward he was wounded by four of the enemy who were moving to their gun. He rushed his section forward, killed the enemy and captured the machine gun. It was not till after our objective had been gained and partly consolidated that TAYLOR asked to get away as he was feeling ill from loss of blood. His courage and example set to the men is worthy of recommendation.'
