'For fine display of courage during the operations at PASSCHENDAELE RIDGE, East of YPRES, from 5th to 9th November, 1917. Private TAYLOR was acting as Company runner, and time after time when all other communications failed he carried messages to and from Bn. Headquarters through intense hostile barrage.'
