Classified Class 'C.3' by Medical Board, 8th Training Bn, Larkhill, 24 September 1916, and fit for home service.

Marched out of 8th Training Bn, 6 October 1916; marched into No 1 Command Depot, Perham Downs, 9 October 1916, and classified 'B2B'.

Tried by District Court Martial, 16 November 1917, on a charge of conduct to the prejudice of good order and military discipline, in that he at Andover at 1145 hours, 29 October 1916, was in possession of a document purporting to a genuine pass, well knowing that it was not genuine; found guilty: sentenced to 71 days' detention.

Sentence confirmed by Brigadier General Sir Newton-Moore, 20 November 1916, but 30 day's remitted from sentence.

Marched into No 1 Command Depot, Perham Downs, 26 December 1916, and classified 'B1A'.

Marched into No 1 Command Depot, 18 January 1917, and classified 'C3'.

Marched into No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 25 January 1917.

Marched into No 4 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 19 April 1918.

Marched into Overseas Training Bde, Longbridge Deverill, 25 June 1918.

Admitted to No 1 Australian Dermatological Hospital, Bulford, 28 June 1918 (venereal disease); discharged, 1 July 1918, and marched into Convalescent Training Depot, Parkhouse, the same day; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 4 days.

Admitted to No 1 Australian Dermatological Hospital, Bulford, 14 August 1918 (exploitative dermatitis); transferred to No 1 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 5 September 1918.

Died, 2 October 1918 (primary, exploitative dermatitis, secondary broncho pneumonia).
