Military Medal 'For devoted service during attack on enemy trenches near MORLANCOURT on night of 5th/6th May, 1918. The enemy was making a determined stand on the left flank, and in order to deal with them, this N.C.O. collected stragglers from various platoons, organised them expeditiously, and brought them into action just at the right time. His prompt action and the gallant manner in which he led his party was largely responsible for the breaking up of that part of the hostile defence.'
