Landed on Gallipoli on 25 April, 1915. Served approx. 7 months when evacuated to Alexandria suffering from malaria. Rejoined Unit and proceeded to France. Appointed 2nd Lieut, 25 July 1916, France. Promoted Lieut, 9 February 1917, France, and Captain, 20 July 1917, France.
