Embarked Brisbane, 7 September 1916; found guilty, at sea, 13 October 1916, of being absent without leave: awarded forfeiture of 2 days' pay; found guilty, at sea, 7 October 1916, of being absent without leave: awarded 5 days' confined to barracks, and forfeited 1 day's pay; admitted to ship's hospital, 13 October 1916; disembarked Plymouth, England, 2 November 1916, and marched into 3rd Training Bn.

Admitted to 1st Australian Dermatological Hospital, Bulford, 13 November 1916; transferred to Parkhouse Hospital, 8 December 1916; discharged to 3rd Training Bn, Durrington, 6 January 1917; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 86 days.

Found guilty, 11 April 1917, of being absent without leave from 8 am, 6 April, till 8 am, 9 April 1917: awarded 96 hours' detention, and forfeiture of a total of 9 days' pay.

Found guilty, 2 June 1917, of being absent without leave from 29 May till 11 am, 1 June 1917: awarded 96 hours' detention, and forfeiture of 8 days' pay.

Marched into No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 9 August 1917.
