Found guilty, 29 April 1918, of being absent without leave from 10:00 pm, 27 April to 8:00 am, 29 April 1918: awarded 7 days Field Punishment No 2 and forfeited 9 days' pay.

Proceeded overseas to France, 26 May 1918; marched in to Roulles, France, 30 May 1918; to Segregation Camp, 31 May 1918; rejoined unit, 15 June 1918; marched out to Australian General Base Depot, Roulles, 19 June 1918; taken on strength of 2nd Australian Light Railway Operating Company, 25 June 1918.

Found guilty, 26 June 1918, of being absent without leave, from 9:30 pm, until arrested by Military Police at 9:55 pm, 17 June 1918 (25 minutes): awarded admonishment by Commanding Officer.

Admitted to 2nd Canadian Stationary Hospital, 9 October 1918 (sick); transferred to England, 15 October 1918; admitted to St Alban's County War Hospital, England, 15 October 1918; transferred to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 13 November 1918; on leave, 15 November, to 29 November 1918; reported to Sutton Veny Command Depot, 29 November 1918.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Karmala', 2 January 1919; disembarked Melbourne, 15 February 1919; discharged, 2 March 1919 (medically unfit).
