Military Medal 'For devotion to duty and coolness under fire during the operations at BROODSEINDE RIDGE east of YPRES on 3rd to 6th October, 1917. Pte. TIBBITS acting as Company Runner carried important messages to Battalion Headquarters and forward positions. At such times he had to pass and return through heavy shell fire and constant machine gun fire. This was especially the case when going the forward postions. He carried all messages both by day and night quicly and in not one instance did he fail to deliver his message and return with an answer.'
