Wounded in action, 17 July 1917 (gun shot wound, left leg); transferred to England, 20 July 1917, and admitted to 2nd Southern General Hospital, Birmingham; transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 13 August 1917; discharged on furlough, 27 August 1917, to report to Training Depot, Codford, 10 September 1917.

Admitted to 1st Australian Dermatological Hospital, Bulford, 4 October 1917; discharged, 11 October 1917: total period of treatment for venereal disease: 8 days.

Proceeded overseas to France, 10 January 1918; rejoined unit in Belgium, 15 January 1918.

Wounded in action, 22 August 1918 (shell wound, left leg); transferred to England, 26 August 1918, and admitted to War Hospital, Duston, Northampton, 27 August 1918; discharged on furlough, 3 December 1918, to report to No 4 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 17 December 1918.
