Military Medal

'On the night of 3rd/4th November, 1917, this N.C.O. was a member of a ptrol at BROODSEINDE which attacked an enemy post of 8 men, killing four and bringing one back to our lines. The information gained from the prisoner was of considerable value and Sergeant TOOGOOD with two others reconnoitred the position before the attack. and himself took the prisoner. He showed great dash throughout.'
