Meritorious Service Medal 'This N.C.O. has rendered very efficient and meritorious service with the Battalion during the past six months. At MONT ST. QUENTIN, BEAUREVOIR and MONTBREHAIN, C.Q.M.S. TOUGH kept constant liaison with his Company Commander and the Q.M. Store at the Transport lines. By this method he was able to safely deliver his Company's rations each night. At BEAUREVOIR the ration limbers came under much heavy enemy fire, but TOUGH waited until the limbers were saely guided through and then reported to his Company Commander. Out of the line C.Q.M.S. THOUGH has shown much resourcefulness in the provision of additional comforts for the men of the Company. He has worked consistently and regardless of personal fatigue and discomfort. The reports of the Company hav been splendidly kept by this N.C.O. thus aiding the general administrative work of the Battalion.'
