Proceeded to France through Southampton, 5 February 1918; marched into 1st Australian Divisional Base Depot, Havre, 6 February 1918; taken on strength of 6th Bn, 10 February 1918; wounded in action, 11 July 1918 (retained on duty). Wounded in action, 9 August 1918. Admitted to 15th Australian Field Ambulance, 10 August 1918, and transferred to Casualty Clearing Station (gun shot wound, face); to 22nd General Hospital, Camieres, 10 August 1918. Proceeded to England on HS 'Brighton, 13 August 1918, and admitted to Fort Pitt Military Hospital, Chatham; transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, 19 August 1918; discharged to No. 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 4 September 1918; marched into No 1 Command Depot, Perham Downs, 25 October 1918 (classified B1 a2).
