Military Medal 'During the advance west of VILLERET on 18th September, 1918, Lance-Corporal TRESTRAIL showed great devotion to duty. He was in charge of two Machine Guns and after establishing them in commanding positions, he went forward and made a careful reconnaissance of the ground in front. Later, during the relief of the Battalion, the Limbers were heavily shelled and casualties were inflicted. He remained and supervised the removal of the wounded to a plae of safety and then drove one Limber through a heavy enemy Artillery barrage to Rear Battalion Headquarters. He displayed great gallantry throughout the whole operation and his cheerful bearing had a marked effect on his men.'
