Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during operations against MONT ST QUENTIN near PERONNE. On the night 29th/30th August 1918, Sapper TUCKER did excellent work on the construction of a footbridge across the SOMME River to CLERY, showing absolute disregard of very heavy shell fire and setting a fine example to the men under him. On the 31st August, arriving in the vicinity of proposed bridge to CLERY during very heavy shell fire, and whilst the remainder of the section remained under cover, he volunteered to reconnoitre site of bridge. He showed great coolness and did excellent work during the construction of the bridge, setting a splendid example to the men under him.'
