Albert Medal (Bronze) 'On 19th July, 1918, as some Australian troops were advancing to an attack in France, one of the men tripped on some wire, and a rifle grenade fell from his rifle to the ground with the pin out. Second Lieutenant Tunn, who was about 10 yards away, saw what had happened, and ran back and picked up the grenade. In doing sohe also tripped on the wire and the grenade fell from his hand. He picked it up again, and as he did so it exploded and blew off his right hand, besides wounding him in the head. The men were unhurt.'
