Medals

Meritorious Service Medal

'For devotion to duty and excellent work as Staff Sergeant 4th Infantry Brigade headquarters since 9th July 1915 a period of 20 months continuous faithful performance of his duties. He was recommended for the Meritorious Service Medal in the last General List but was not even mentioned in despatches. Two Non Commissioned Officers in similar positions on the Regimental Staff of 2 Battalions in this Brigade received the Meritorious Service Medal yet junior in point of service and with less responsibility. I strongly recommend him for the Meritorious Service Medal.'
