Military Medal 'This N.C.O. was in charge of three traffic control posts in Warfusee-Abancourt on the 9th August 1918 and, although this town was under constant shell fire from the enemy during that period, Lance Corporal Twist by his gallant conduct and splendid example to the men entrusted to his charge was the means of maintaining a constant and even flow of traffic during a period when there was every likelihood of serious blocks taking place.'
