Meritorious Service Medal 'During the period 16th/17th September, 1918, to11th November, 1918, this N.C.O. has served continuously with his battalion and shown fine devotion to duty. During the operations on 18th September, 1918, in front of JEANCOURT this N.C.O. displayed great initiative and his ceaseless energies resulted in the men of his company having complete comfort. His devotion to duty and fine example as a soldier during the above period have always been an inspiration to the men of his company.'
