Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the operations EAST OF YPRES 4/5th October and 9/10th October. He was one of a party carrying rations to the forward area. Several horses were blown out and drivers wounded and other horses being bogged. He had to load and unload his waggon several times under heavy fire. He set a fine example to those around him and greatly assisted in getting the supplies to the front line.'
