Wounded, right thigh, 15 May 1915; admitted to 17th General Hospital, Alexandria, 17 Mag 1915; rejoined unit, 25 June 1915. Wounded, 12 July 1915, left thigh, and admitted to 1st Australian General Hospital, 31 July 1915; transferred to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, 13 August 1915. Admitted with enteric fever, convalescent camp, 6 October 1915.

Commenced return to Australia on board HS 'Karoola', 4 november 1915; discharged (medically unfit: enteric fever), 15 January 1917.

After discharge in Australia worked as a recruiting sergeant.
