Military Medal

'During the operations east of HOOGE from 20th to 23rd September, 1917, Driver WAKEFIELD drove his car between BIRR Cross Roads and the CULVERT to the Advanced Dressing Station. During this time the road was heavily shelled both by High Explosive and Gass shells, but he continued to work coolly and untiringly, and helped materially in successfully evacuating the wounded from the loading post at the CULVERT to the A.D.S.'
