Military Medal 'For bravery and coolness on the night 29th/30th August, 1916, at POZIERES. When owing to a heavy hostile artillery barrage the wire connecting the firing line and Battalion Headquarters was continually being cut. Lance Corporal WALKER was out practically the whole night repairing the wire notwithstanding the dangerous and trying conditions, succeeded in keeping up communications.'
