Proceeded overseas to France, 19 June 1917; taken on strength, 39th Bn, 10 July 1917. Admitted to 11th Australian Field Ambulance, 20 July 1917 (injury to nose); discharged to duty, 29 July 1917, and rejoined Bn same day. Wounded in action, 4 October 1917; rejoined unit, 7 October 1917.
