Military Medal 'During the attack on STORMY TRENCH east of GUEUDECOURT on night 4th/5th February, 1917, was ordered to supervise the crews of the centre Companies. Our men were hardly into the trench and our barrage had hardly lifted before WALLBANK was out over the top selecting positions for his Lewis guns. When the enemy made his first counter attack and a Lewis gun and crew were blown out, WALLBANK went back alone through the barrage and single handed brought back a spare gun which had been held in reserve. He is an exposition of all the dash, skill and courage that is required of a Lewis gunner.'
