Meritorious Service Medal 'For good work and devotion to duty from 25th February to 16th September, 1918 as transport Corporal, Corporal WALTON has carried out his duties in a most effient manner. He has constantly controlled the Battalion transport under shell fire in forward areas. He was in charge of wagons engaged in the salvaging of material from STRAZEELE Dump during April, May and June and was largely responsible for the salvage of a large amount of valuable engineering material. In the operation forward of PROYART by his example, he ensured the successful delivery of engineering materials necessary for the construction of works in the forward area.'
