War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front Embarked Alexandria, 14 November 1915; taken on strength of 2nd Battery, Gallipoli Peninsula, 21 November 1915. Disembarked Alexandria, 3 January 1916, and mustered as a Driver the same day. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 21 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 28 March 1916. Found guilty, 23 June 1916, of being absent without leave from 2100 hours, until 2330 hours, 16 June 1916: award, forfeits 5 days' pay. Found guilty, 20 September 1916, of disobeying a routine order in that he was riding a horse on a cobble road faster than a walk: awarded 72 hours' Field Punishment No 2.
