'These men [825 Arthur BENESS, 2403 Charles Peter KENT, and BRENTON] distinguished themselves in the fighting near Riencourt on 11th April 1917. The fourth member of their squad was killed early in the fight but though a man short these three continued to carry in wounded for fourteen hours without a rest, in spite of heavy rifle, machine gun and shell fire.
