Military Medal 'East of Bullecourt on the morning of the 13th May 1917 Corporal J.M. Webb showed the greatest coolness and initiative under fire. During a relief the enemy put a heavy barrage over the position and at the same time attacked on the left. All telephone communications were cut, and Corporal Webb went out under the barrage and succeeded in establishing communication with the front line. This act was performed with the greatest coolness and courage, and it enabled action to be taken at a most critical period.'
