Military Medal

'For conspicuous good conduct and gallantry at LIHONS on 11th August 1918, in making a reconnaissance 600 yards into LIHU WOOD engaging an enemy post from which he was bombed. Lance Corporal WEIGHILL then returned after exhausting his supply of bombs and with a fresh supply again set out in face of strong enemy opposition from rifle fire and bombs. He succeeded in reaching the post, and bombing the garrison, inflicting severe casualties, causing them to evacuate. His action put a stop to sniping on our line.'
