Found guilty, 1 January 1916, of being drunk in Cairo: fined 2/6-. Found guilty, Maadi, 16 January 1916, of being absent without leave and drunk at Camp Nile: fined 5/- and confined to camp for 14 days. Found guilty, Maadi, 29 January 1916, of using filthy language at a Picture Show: fined 10/- and confined to camp for 14 days. Found guilty, 23 February 1916, of (1) being absent from Guard duty, 19 February 1916, after having been warned; (2) absent without leave from 6.30 am, 20/2/16, to 6.30 am, 21/2/16; (3) Braking out of camp: awarded 14 days' detention. Admitted to hospital, 10 February 1916; discharged to duty, 14 February 1916 (no further details recorded). Found guilty, 13 March 1916, of being absent from parade without leave: awarded 168 hours' detention.

Commenced return to Australia from Suez on board HT 'Seang Bee', 29 April 1916; discharged, Brisbane, 19 June 1916.

Re-enlisted, 26 January 1917. Re-embarked Sydney on board HT 'Port Sydney', 9 May 1917, as Trooper, No 3314, 5th Light Horse Regiment, 27th Reinforcement; disembarked Suez, 20 June 1917; taken on strength, 2nd Light Horse Training Regiment, 26 July 1917. Transferred to and taken on strength of Australian Mounted Division Train, 28 July 1917. Found guilty, 9 August 1917, of failing to salute an Officer: awarded 3 days' confined to barracks. Appointed Driver, 13 August 1917. Marched out to No 2 Company, Australian Mounted Division Train, 20 August 1917.

Admitted to 35th Casualty Clearing Station, 12 December 1917 (piles); transferred to 3rd East Anglian Field Ambulance, 10 December 1917; to Ambulance Train No 9, 13 December 1917, and admitted to 45th Stationary Hospital, El Arish, same day; transferred to 24th Stationary Hospital, 15 December 1917; to 14th Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 19 December 1917 (haemorrhoids); to Convalescent Depot, Abbassia, 17 January 1918.

Admitted to Port Said Rest Camp, 30 October 1918 (haemorrhoids); Medical Board diagnosed malaria, debility and haemorrhoids, 8 November 1918; transferred to 31st General Hospital, Cairo, 30 September 1918.

Found guilty, 15 January 1919, of when on Active Service, Port Said, 13 January 1919, drunkenness: awarded 14 days' Field Punishment No 2. Marched out to Port Said Detention Camp, 15 January 1919; released, 28 January 1919.

White wrote to Base Records, May 1933, seeking financial assistance from the Canteens Fund: ' ? I was getting a small pension which was stopped about 2 years ago and am out of work. My only income now is the 6/- weekly relief. I am practically down & out.' Base Records replied, 21 June 1933: ' ? I regret to inform you that all moneys of the Canteen Fund have been expended, and the fund was closed some time ago.'
