Miscellaneous details (Nominal Roll) | Invalided from service as a Lieutenant, 1 July 1918. After the war he worked as a surveyor and then as a rubber planter in Malaya, 1920-41. With the outbreak of war against Japan, December 1941, he (as a civilian) assisted the military at Kota Bahru with topographical information; at Kulai he acted as a collector of enemy property; and in Singapore he was superintendent of the blood transfusion unit. During the Japanese occupation he was interned as a civilian at Changi and Sime Road camps. After the war he again became a rubber planter in the Kota Bahru area, Malaya. |
