Admitted to 2nd Stationary Hospital, Tel-el-Kebir, 11 June 1916 (influenza); transferred to No 3 Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 12 June 1916; transferred to British Red Cross Convalescent Depot, Montazah, 24 June 1916; discharged to 14th Training Bn, Tel-el-Kebir, 17 July 1916.

Embarked Alexandria on HMT 'Arcadian' and proceeded to join British Expeditionary Force, 29 July 1916; disembarked Southampton, 9 August 1916. Proceed to France, 16 September 1916.
