Military Medal 'In an operation against the enemy position near STRAZEELE on 24th June, 1918, Sergeant BRIDLE took command of his platoon when his Officer became a casualty. He led his men on to their objective, but all his men were killed or wounded, and Sergeant BRIDLE reached the position alone. He was wounded, but returned to his Company commander and guided another platoon to the captured position. His bearing throughout was beyond praise, and it was owing to his initiative and determination that enabled the enemy post to be occupied.'
