Military Medal 'For conspicuous coolness abd bravery under fire and during the first days of the landing at Anzac. He voluntarily collected his comrades' water bottles and at great personal risk took them to the rear and returned with them filled. When ammunition was running short he assisted in bringing up supplies, and several times delivered and brought back important verbal and written messages under heavy fire. He subsequently rendered valuable service on patrol duty.'
