War service: embarked for Gallipoli from Alexandria, 16 May 1915. Injured in fall-in of dugout (fractured ribs), 11 June 1915; transferred to Malta, 20 June 1915, and admitted to Floriana Hospital. Transferred to England, 18 July 1915. Admitted to Military Hospital, Hampstead, 27 July 1915. Commenced return to Egypt, 22 February 1916; disembarked Alexandria, 5 March 1916; returned to duty, 7 March 1916. Transferred to 3rd Light Horse Brigade, 31 March 1916; to 8th Light Horse Regiment, 31 October 1916.
