Distinguished Conduct Medal 'During the operations against the Hindenburg Line on 29 September 1918, he was in charge of two gun teams, which he took forward to give covering fire for the advancing infantry. He brought his guns into action under heavy enemy fire, inflicting considerable casualties on the enemy, and enabling the position to be consolidated.'
