Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Carrying messages under heavy fire from hostile machine guns and enemy artillery. He ably assisted his officer on reconnaissance work, assisting in the capture of enemy post of 20 prisoners and also on another post, killing two of the enemy. His courage, initiative and skill were largely responsible for the success of the Mortars in action.'
