Distinguished Service Order 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. With his squadron he encountered at night a party of the enemy, who opened fire on his men. He called upon the enemy to surrender, and succeeded in capturing the whole party of 230 of the enemy. He showed the greatest coolness and courage.'
