War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, 5 April 1915. Wounded in action, admitted to No 3 Field Ambulance, then transferred to No 3 Field Ambulance Divisional Collecting Station, Gallipoli, 8 August 1915 (bayonet wound, back); to No 16 Stationary Hospital, Mudros, 15 August 1915; to Convalescent Depot, Mudros, 20 August 1915; to Base Depot, Mudros, 26 August 1916 (Class B); to ANZAC Advanced Base, Mudros, 15 December 1915 (Class A); discharged to rejoin unit, 23 December 1915; rejoined Bn, Tel el Kebir, 29 December 1915. Found guilty, 29 January 1916, of overstaying leave from 2100 hours , 28 January 1916, until 0930 hours, 29 January 1916: awarded 3 days' confined to camp and forfeited 2 days' pay by Royal Warrant.
