Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry during the capture of the enemy trenches near BULLECOURT on 3rd May 1917. All his senior officers being casualties he reorganised his Company and available men and put the trench allotted into a good state of defence. he did excellent service in collecting and issuing available supplies of ammunition, bombs and minenwerfer shells at the earliest opportunity.'
