Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack at WARFUSEE near AMIENS on the 8th August 1918. With another man he entered the village and captured a machine gun and its crew that had been troubling the advancing Infantry, and 3 guns in a cellar. At all times his courage and cheerfulness were exemplary.'
